This will be a quick update, mainly to share links to photos and information!
I finished another costume — this time, a bustle gown. I have all the information and photos of the outfit on the costume page for it (see below).
I finished it in time for an event as well!
The costuming group I’m a part of rode a train to the Fort Worth Stockyards to attend a big festival there. We all dressed up and had a great time. I wrote a blog entry about the day here:
The DFWCG’s Frontier Forts Days and Train Ride.
Sorry I’m still a little slow to update. I have various projects in progress, have been sick off and on, and I also have some other things I need to take care of as well.
I’m just glad when I can mark another project off the To Do List!

I know this outfit gave you its issues, but…it ended up great! People loved it, and with good reason. I like that you always challenge yourself and modify patterns. And…I love that the trek to Ft. Worth and back was even more fun than I thought it would be!
Beautiful! You are so talented!
@Christopher: There are some issues with it, but I don’t mind challenging myself to try something I really want and having something at least wearable in the end. Sure, there are a few details that drive me nuts, but I’m just thrilled to have a different style bustle outfit to wear. The skirt is cute and fun… I’m still contemplating a matching bodice. Would that be too much plaid? LOL!
@Ali: Thanks so much! π
Beautiful outfit and I love this picture π
You look wonderful! I love these sharp and stylish late bustle dresses and the colors you have chosen are great. Beautifully done!
@Mary: Thanks! I adore the photo too… it’s one of my faves!
@Merja: Thank you! I usually lean more towards frilly and poofy, but I have to admit I’m very glad to have something more straightforward like this. The skirt is a lot of fun. I think I’ll wear it again in December to an event if I’m able to attend. π
