No, it’s not mine (I wish I had the guts and time to figure out something to babble about weekly or even monthly), but it’s my husband’s and a writer-friend of his.
Christopher and his friend Shawn have a podcast. They’re already up to the 4th episode, but I haven’t had a chance to post about it here and include a link. You can find it here: Men in Gorilla Suits. I know you can find it in various places, and I’ve been assured that it should be available on iTunes at some point as well.
I’ll admit it. I’m not a big podcast listener. I don’t like listening to people talk (although I will have TV on in the background while I’m sewing, but it needs to be something I don’t need to pay attention to).
And I’m not just saying this because I’m biased, but I really am enjoying the subjects these guys are talking about. I find myself agreeing, totally getting what they’re talking about, or just laughing hysterically.
And another thing I’ll add… I’m not sure why they picked the name they did. Perhaps Christopher would be so kind to explain it here? Or maybe in a future podcast, they’ll say why? I’d like to think it’s based off the thought of bigfoot sightings being footage of people in gorilla suits, but that’s just me. Or maybe I’ve been watching way too many X Files episodes lately. π
So please, give them a listen.
Best Wishes!
Yes, it’s kind of like a Bigfoot sighting. We just wanted something where we could come up with standardized episode names, and somewhere along the line, “Men in Gorilla Suits” popped up. Shawn loved it, and suggested that we add the “Last seen…” standardized titles for episodes, which I LOVE! Kind of like we’ve escaped from a zoo and people are on the lookout for us. It totally rounded the idea out, and it just stuck.
For me, there’s also a little DEVO in it, since I’m a geek like that and think “Jocko Homo” is one of the best songs ever written. Not that Shawn and I see the podcast becoming a big thing, but if we ever had enough listeners to justify a photo shoot in gorilla suits, I would call it a great success! π
